Currently, according to LA Dept. of Public Health, " The risk from the novel coronavirus 2019 to spread in Los Angeles County residents is deemed to be low at this time." Therefore, Dept. of Public Health recommend, "no special precautions are required. We are encouraging everyone to continue engaging in their regular activities".
Safety, including health safety, is always our top priority. Following the recommendations of the above agencies, we ask (1) Students with fever, please stay at home. (2) Students having traveled in China’s Hubei Province or having been in contact with a confirmed case of the coronavirus will be put mandatory quarantine for 14 days. Students having travelled in other parts of China can choose self quarantine (3) for all other students who have not traveled to China recently or without close contact with people visiting from Hubei, please also practice good personal and public health hygiene.
From last week, DBCS adopts the following measures to improve the public health hygiene at Chinese school: (1) Students will be seated with maximum distances allowed in classroom between each other (2) Different classes take different time for recess; (3) All classes have “hand-wash” break for every session, students are required to wash hands or apply hand sanitizer in classroom; (4) every student who makes purchase for snacks will have to use hand sanitizer before taking the snack. (5) no interactive group teaching will be used to avoid close face-to-face encounter among students; (6) all teachers, TAs, and staff members are required to practice good personal and public health hygiene.
We understand that some parents prefer to exercise extra caution and want their kids to skip Chinese school. Our teachers will prepare e-file of homework assignments. Please send us an email with student's name and class. We will send you homework assignments and other supplementary materials.
